James CONNORS was convicted at Limerick on 1 Jan 1848 for sheep stealing. No previous convictions. 7 yr transportation sentence. Sent to Van Diemen’s Land (Tasmania) per the ‘Blenheim’ arriving 2 Feb 1849.

Aged 24yrs; married man; farm labourer; Roman Catholic; 5’2 1/4”.
Native Place - Limerick, Ireland.
Wife - Margaret
Father - John
Brothers - Michael & Terence
Sisters - Mary & ......

Assigned to work services in the Colony. Clear conduct record.
1852: Fined, for being drunk.
Ticket of Leave granted.

30 Dec 1853: Application for permission to marry (remarriages were permitted within the Colony as convicts were not generally allowed to return to Britain). James Connors (Blenheim) to Margaret Kelly (per Midlothian). (Ref: record for actual marriage not yet located.)
