1829 - Waterloo's first voyage arrived at Sydney Cove 9 July 1829. 180 Male Convicts. 2 Died on voyage. 7 sent to the hospital on landing. Total mustered; 171. Stephen Addison - Commander Michael Goodsire - Surgeon Superintendent [His wife was a passenger] 1842 - The Waterloo voyage of 1842 was wrecked on 28/8/1842. 189 people drowned, these being 143 convicts, 15 men of the 99th Regiment, together with 17 wives and children, the boatswain Mr. Chiverton, the sailmaker, the carpenter and 11 of the crew. Convicts were then received in Cape Town Prison from the wreck of the Waterloo, 2nd September 1842. They then completed their voyage to VDL per “Cape Packet” which arrived on 23/11/1842.

Ticket of Leave Passport No. 72/346 Ticket of Leave No. 21/632 Dated 20th Nov 1846. Parramatta William Connolly. Tried in Liverpool. Issued 18th November 1946. Ship Beromdsey. Year of Arrival 1840. Stockman at Parramatta for service under the control of Mr FA Donovon for six months.

The Convict Indentures state that William Conolly was 37 years old. He could neither read nor write; religion Roman Catholic; status single and a native of Dublin. He was a farm labourer. William was convicted of house breaking at Kildare on 21 March 1836 and sentenced to life. He had one prior conviction and served one month. Physical attributes: height 5 feet 1 1/2 inches; complexion dark; hair dark brown and eyes grey. Transport number 30. Prisoner number 36-1835. NSW 1837 General Muster states that William Conolly was assigned to i) Government Service in Sydney and ii) to Mr Tait in Paterson, NSW. The Iron Gang registers state that William Conolly was convicted of robbery and sentenced to 12 months in 1843. Received at Hyde Park Barracks on 10 July 1843. Convict Death Register states that William Conolly, Waterloo, 1836 died on 25 November 1847 at Sydney Hospital. Please note that the Warrants of the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland spells Williams surname as Connolly.
