Chelmsford, Dec. 27. — Wednesday morning, Mr. Cawkwell, Governor of Chelmsford gaol, received a reprieve for Benjamin Cooper, the young man who robbed Mrs. Stock, of Thaxted, and who but for this extension of the Royal mercy, would have been executed this day. Morning Post, 1 Jan 1823
