She had no previous convictions. Jane was 5 foot 2 inches tall, with a ruddy and freckled complexion. Her hair was brown and eyes light hazel. Jane's nose is described as inclining a little to the right side. She had a mark (tattoo?) on the back of her lower left arm "DCJC". Jane's arms are described as hairy. Jane's native place is listed as Lisbon in the manifest and on her Certificate of Freedom. Her death certificate gives Lincolnshire as the place of birth. Jane married Charles Wilby (Bussorah Merchant) 19 Feb 1838 at St James Church, Sydney Jane was buried in the grounds of what is now Christ Church Cathedral
