GEORGE WESTON, alias John White , and JOHN COOPER, alias Timberlake , were indicted for stealing, on the 27th of Aug., at Lambeth, 6 spoons, value 25s.; 2 brooches, 20s.; 2 rings, 15s.; 2 eardrops, 2s.; 1 cross, 4s.; 1 locket, 2s.; 1 purse, 1s.; 12 sovereigns, and 1 half-sovereign; the property of Edward Brundell, in his dwelling-house; and GEORGE JACKSON, alias Edward Contensen , for feloniously receiving 1 ring, part of the said goods, well knowing it to have been stolen; and that Weston had been before convicted of felony. Son of William Timberlake (tailor) and Ann Poulton. Married Mary Clarke 1855. Died at Taradale.

1847, 9 August: John COOPER, 29, per Maitland – bond, Protestant – was buried in the grounds of the Prisoners’ Barracks, at Hobart, having been a patient in the General Hospital at Hobart. The ceremony was performed by Wm Hesketh (see https://librariestas.ent.sirsidynix.net.au/ Resource RGD34/1/2 no 1614).
