Family connections for Thomas (Cooper) are: Some amendments added Oct 2025. COOPER Thomas (Cooper/Cappur aka Thomas/John (Williams)) son of Elizabeth (Cooper) was born on 19 10 1771 (probably earlier) & baptised on 19 10 1771 at Aston on Trent Derbyshire. He was tried for burglary at Shropshire Assizes, sentenced with mercy to Life & arrived in NSW as a convict on 18 5 1798 after a voyage of 9months on BARWELL. He had a relationship with Mary (Holland her third relationship) by 1806. He was Free by Servitude by 1808. He was recorded in 1814 as a sawyer. In 1825 he was assigned as a sawyer to Kissing Point & is recorded there with Conditional Pardon. He is recorded in 1828 with Conditional Pardon as tenant at Hunter Hill, perhaps with his daughter & her husband. He died on 25 10 1828 age57. Mary (Holland) was born on 1 7 1775 in Surrey. She was tried for stealing sheets etc at Surrey Assizes in 1794, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 30 4 1796 after a voyage of 6months on INDISPENSABLE. She had a first (1of3) relationship with Lachlan/in (Ross) & produced 1child. She was Free by Servitude by 1804. She had a second (2of3) relationship with Joseph (Butler his second relationship) whom she later married - in 1826. She was recorded in 1808 with (Thomas (Cooper) & in 1814 with Thomas (Cooper) & 3children. She is recorded in 1825 living with Jno (Butler). She married Joseph (Butler) in May 1828 (not shown in Smees records). She produced 6children in her lifetime. She was living at Lower Branch when she married at age16 William (Perkins) of Lower Branch on 27 1 1823 at St Matthews CofE Windsor. She is recorded with him & perhaps her father in 1828. She died on 24 3 1856 age about47. ..William (Perkins) was born about 1798 in the colony. He was born or lived at Lower Portland Head. He was recorded in 1823 at Lower Branch. He is recorded with his wife & perhaps her father in 1828. He is recorded in 1830 as a farmer. In the colony, Thomas had a de-facto relationship with Mary Holland (Convict, Indispensible, 1796). This relationship seems to have commenced around 1806. The couple had one daughter, Louisa Lucy Holland born about 1808. Mary had several other children from previous liaisons with Lachlan Ross (NSW Corps, Scarborough, 1790) and Joseph Butler (Second Fleet Convict, Neptune, 1790).
