William Coorigan was transported on the Waterloo, departing 18th Dec 1830 and arriving 30th Apr 1831 with 200 passengers.
1829 - Waterloo's first voyage arrived at Sydney Cove 9 July 1829. 180 Male Convicts. 2 Died on voyage. 7 sent to the hospital on landing. Total mustered; 171. Stephen Addison - Commander Michael Goodsire - Surgeon Superintendent [His wife was a passenger] 1842 - The Waterloo voyage of 1842 was wrecked on 28/8/1842. 189 people drowned, these being 143 convicts, 15 men of the 99th Regiment, together with 17 wives and children, the boatswain Mr. Chiverton, the sailmaker, the carpenter and 11 of the crew. Convicts were then received in Cape Town Prison from the wreck of the Waterloo, 2nd September 1842. They then completed their voyage to VDL per “Cape Packet” which arrived on 23/11/1842.

The first trial was for Cow Stealing. William Corrigan, for feloniously stealing a cow, the property of Robert Hall, at Rallanode, in April last. Robert Hall examined—Lives beside Ballanode; lost a cow in April last ; she was taken out of his. byre at night; the byre was locked; missed her the next morning ; got her in the evening of the same day in one Flannigan’s, near Carrickmacross twenty miles from house. Lawrence Cunningham—Was going to Carrickmacross fair in April last, and overtook the prisoner at the bar on the road driving a cow; it was about three miles from Carrick, and as early as nine o'clock in the morning; prisoner said he had the cow for sale ; witness, who was going to the fair to buy a cow, made bargain with the prisoner, and bought her for £2 15s., and gave a shilling as earnest; witness told prisoner he must have a voucher; prisoner then put the cow in Flannigan’s byre, and got a man of the name of Mulholland to go bail, but, as he could give no security, witness, from some information he received, suspected the prisoner, and sent for the Police, but before their arrival he and Mulholland made their escape; the cow was afterwards claimed by Hall, and given to him in presence. Guilty; sentence of death recorded. Newry Telegraph, 27 July 1830.
