Margaret Corcoran, together with her sister Anne, was convicted at Limerick on 20 April 1850 for cow stealing. 10yr sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania), arriving 29 May 1851. Sister Ann also transported on this ship. Aged 23yrs; single; country servant; Roman Catholic; can read & write; 5'5 1/2". Native Place - Co. Tipperary Sisters - Anne, Mary Brothers - Daniel, James & William, Father - Thomas Assignments of service in Colony. Married Robert Ruck 8 Nov 1852 Hobart. Robert - a tailor. (?transported per Ticket of Leave 31 Oct 1854 Conditional Pardon 9 June 1857 Children: Mary Louisa RUCK b. 29 Jul 1853 Hobart Ann RUCK b. 21 Dec 1856 Kingston
