Convict Notes
County of Down Assizes. Cornelius Burns, for that he, being intrusted to receive money for Pat McCartan, did feloniously embezzle the same. Pat McCartan- Is a baker in Downpatrick; in Oct. last, he had the prisoner in his employment as a journeyman baker;. on 14th Oct. employed him to go to Clough and Seatfrd with bread, value £3, 11s.; he was also to receive the money for the bread, for which he did not account to witness; he brought back the horse and cart, but witness did not did not see him again.- Guilty.-7 years' transportation. Belfast News-Letter, 7 April 1829.
