John Coverdale was 29 years old on arrival in VDL. He was convicted, along with Joseph Tebbutt (Bengal Merchant 1834 NSW), although Joseph was convicted again and ended up in VDL. John Coverdale was born in Richmond, Surry, he was 5'2" tall, single, brown hair, hazel eyes, scar on right side of chin. 17/2/1843: TOL 22/5/1846: CP 1842 Census: was at Richmond. Found nothing else about him, there was a Dr. John Coverdale who was the doctor for the Cascades Factory in Hobart, and all records I found were of him.
