Richard and Ann had a large family, 12 children born between 1839 and 1863. Grace




On 11th November 1839, Richard married Ann Turnbull at Pitt Town. Ann was the daughter of Ralph Turnbull and Grace Cavanough. Ralph had come free, on the "Coromandel" in 1802, aged 11 years. He came with his father John Turnbull, an immigrant Tailor and his mother Ann Warr, with 3 siblings. Grace had been born in the colony, the daughter of Owen Cavanough, a First Fleet Sailor, who arrived 1788 on the "Sirius" and his wife Margaret Darnell, a First Fleet Convict, 1788, "Prince of Wales".
