Offence: Theft > theft from a specified place Verdict: Guilty Punishment: Transportation CHRISTOPHER CRANE was indicted for stealing, on the 15th of May , 100 lbs. of lead, value 15 s., the goods of Elizabeth Fraile , and fixed to her dwelling-house . Prisoner's Defence. A bricklayer told me to come for a job; I went up a ladder to the tiles. GUILTY . Aged 28. Transported for Seven Years . Colonial Secretary: CRANE, Christopher. Per "Hebe", 1820 18/2/1824: Threatened by James Moorhouse, his brother-in-law (Fiche 3240; 4/1872 p.79a) 3/6/1825: Convict servant of Arthur Hill. To be victualled from the Stores for six months (Reel 6014; 4/3514 p.446) Not listed on NSW Gov. convict records, found no TOL or COF. There is a death listed for a Christopher Crane in Sydney in 1825.
