Mary Ann Cranston was 16 years old on arrival - she was literate, single, CofE, 4'11ΒΌ" tall, dark freckley complexion, black hair, grey eyes. - A thief and a prostitute 2 years. Place of Birth: Castlebar, Mayo County. 18/12/1849: TOL 20/12/1849: Prohibited from entering service in Hobart Town or Launceston. 3/1/1850: Not allowed to reside in Hobart Town. 27/2/1851: Proceeding to Hobart Town contrary to orders - severely reprimanded and recommended that her petition for a CP be postponed for 6 months. 1/4/1851: TOL Revoked. 25/7/1851: Not allowed to reside in any District to the southward of Oatlands. 7/10/1851: TOL Restored. 29/3/1852: TOL 20/7/1852: CP approved. 25/2/1853: Married Daniel McNab Rodger (Ratcliffe 1840) at Hobart, Tas. Daniel was 29, a general dealer, Mary Ann was 21. No children listed. By 1861 it looks like Daniel was in Sydney: 2/10/1861 Empire, Sydney: Daniel Rodgers, formerly of Glasgow will hear of his brother Alexander at Mr Pearson's, Market St., Sydney. 13/3/1869: Married James Heather (Earl Grey 1843) at Campbell Street, Hobartown. James Heather and Mary Ann had children before they were married: 15/10/1854: James 18/1/1866: Female 30/11/1868: William There was also a Henry. Mary Ann had had 7 children by the time she and James Heather married. 26/4/1909: Mary Ann died in Hobart. *Have not found record - information comes from a family site.*
