Convict Notes
Elliot was indicted under the name Craswell and was 22 years old in 1831 according to the National Archives of Scotland records. The crime of hamesucken is eqauivalent to housebreaking with intent to commit an assault (it's quite a specific crime apparently). The assault victim was Helen Cunningham and it was at Carmichael's Land, Buccleigh Street, Greenock. Elliot was stout made, dimple on chin, grey eyes, brown hair, 5'8" tall, could read and write and was protestant. 1832: Assigned to Mr D Ramsay. 1833-35: Constable. He was an Under Turnkey at Hobart Goal. 23/9/1841: CP Could find no BDM's for Elliot.
