ADM 101/17/3A1828 Medical journal of the female convict ship City of Edinburgh for 14 June to 27 November 1828 by William Anderson, during which time the said ship was transporting female convicts to New South Wales. Folio 3: Mary Cregan, aged 61, prisoner; sick or hurt, cut head; put on sick list, 31 August 1828. Discharged 8 September 1828 well.

Mary Cregan, for stealing thirteen shirts, the property of Henry O’Sullivan, William H. Nash. and another. The articles were stolen from Anne Abern, a washerwoman, and part of them sold to a Mrs. Reddan, by the prisoner. Verdict, guilty. Judge—Was the prisoner in Gaol before ? Gaoler—She was, my Lord, found guilty, and transmitted to the Penitentiary. Judge—Then I shall send her back to the Penitentiary again, to let them know they did no good with her.   Limerick Chronicle, 15 March 1828. Monday seven female convicts under sentence in the City Goal since last Assizes, were transmitted on a car to Cork escorted by a guard of the 32d Regiment, preparatory to transportation. They were comfortably attired in new beaver mantles and entirely new dresses. The names of the above are Alice Kennelly, Ellen Ryan, Margaret Grady, Ann Cavenagh, Bridget Neile, Winifred Hayes, and Mary Cregan, Limerick Chronicle, 28 May 1828.
