Mary and Susannah Cresswell, charged with stealing two five-guinea bills and four guineas in gold, in the dwelling house of Hester Potter and William Palfrey, on suspicion of stealing two wether sheep, the property of Mary Evans, were acquitted.  Hereford Journal, 23 March 1796 On Saturday, Mary and Susan Cresswell were committed to the County Gaol, charged on the oath of Hannah Blew, of Bromyard, with Stealing sundry articles of wearing  apparel her property. They are old and very daring offenders, the present being their fourth commitment to this Gaol.  Hereford Journal, 29 March 1797. Summer Assizes. Mary and Susannah Cresswell for sealing wearing apparel, the property of Hannah Blew, were sentenced to seven years transportation; 23 Aug 1797
