UPDATED >>>Alice (Gordon) married secondly Isaac (Cribb) emancipist with permission on 15 11 1830 at St Peters CofE Richmond. She died in 1833 age about34 mother of 1known child, perhaps during childbirth. CCONVICT ..Isaac (Cribb/Melson) was born about 1786/9 at Bristol, perhaps Gloucestershire & became a labourer. He was tried for horse stealing at Wells Somerset Assizes, sentenced to death reprieved to Life & arrived in NSW as a convict on 7 9 1815 after a voyage of 5months on BARING. He served John (McArthur) at Parramatta from 1815-17 & John (Cribb) from 1817 at Richmond. He was with John (Cribb) when he was issued his Ticket of Leave no.24/360 on 25 8 1824. He sought permission to marry firstly Alice (Gordon) on 8 11 1830.>>> ..Alice (Gordon) & Isaac (Cribb) produced 1child: ..1.Ann (Cribb) was born in 1833. On 27 1 1847 5persons including a John (Cribb) were charged with forcible entry on the (Cribb) residence at Colo, followed by assault of herself-2of the persons were found guilty of the assault. .. >>>Isaac (Cribb/Me/ilson) was issued his Conditional Pardon no.245 on 10 7 1834. He sought permission at Windsor to marry secondly Sarah (Brown) on 28 2 1835. On 27 1 1847 5persons including a John (Cribb) were charged with forcible entry on the (Cribb) residence at Colo, followed by assault of Ann (Cribb)-2of the persons were found guilty of the assault. He died in November 1858 age about69 at Rushcutters Bay St James Glebe father of perhaps 2children. CCONVICT ..Sarah (Brown) was born about 1814. She was tried at probably Old Bailey, held at Middlesex Gaol Delivery, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 31 12 1831 after a voyage of 5months on BURRELL. She was issued her Certificate of Freedom no.40/0004 on 1 1 1840 for Richmond. ..Isaac (Cribb/Melson) & Sarah (Brown) produced perhaps 1child: ..1.Thomas (Cribb) may be a child in this family.




Somerset County Assizes commenced at Wells on Monday, and finished Wednesday evening, when ... Isaac Cribb, for horse-stealing, and James Pearce (aged 24), for the wilful murder of James Hellard received sentence of death. Pearce was left for execution, the others were reprieved. Thomas Skewthorpe, John Skewthorpe, John Cribb, George Maguire, and Michael Tierney, were indicted for having, on the 27th January, 1847, at Colo, made a forcible entry on the premises of Thomas Cribb, Isaac Cribb, Sarah Cribb, and Ann Cribb, and ejecting them therefrom. A second count in the information charged the defendants with assault on one Ann Cribb. The Jury acquitted all the defendants of the forcible entry, finding Thomas Skewthorpe and Maguire guilty of the assault, and who were each sentenced to two months' imprisonment in Parramatta Gaol. Mr. Purefoy appeared as counsel, and Mr. Johnson, (of Windsor), as solicitor for the defendants.
