John Cripps was convicted at CCC, London, 13 June 1836 of Larceny - stealing a purse. 7 years. Single. Transported to Van Diemen's Land. Convict no. 15898. Assigned to Port Arthur Penal settlement - Boys division. Several misconducts on record. 28 Feb 1849 charged, with George Horsely, of assault on a publican, however when it went to court the publican was intoxicated and the pair were aquitted. 4 June 1851 Ticket of Leave. 26 Oct 1852 Application for permission to marry Catherine Murphy (per Australasia).
