Further research shows that this MC was the son of the Michael Croft I identified in December. This is confirmed by his date of birth, he was only 20yrs old when convicted. Michael Croft born on 6/4/1786 was my 4 times great grandfather. He had at least three children with wife Ann Crocket, W illiam 1806, Michael 1810 and Mary who is my three times great grandmother. My wife Caroline Pindar is Australian and we spend much time here. I hope to find out about what happened to MC born 1810 after he arrived in Tasmania as a horse stealing convict. Can anyone help our enquiries?

I believe it is possible that Michael Croft was my Gr Gr Gr Gr Grandfather born in 1786. His daughter Mary Croft had at least two illegitimate children including Inspector Thomas Croft of the Worcester Police Force from 1861 to 1891. Thomas was born in 1841 and died in 1895. I cannot currently establish Michael Crofts birth date to confirm my belief.
