The 1825 Journey. The ship Mariner, Captain Fotherley, arrived from Ireland with female prisoners, on Sunday evening. She left the Cove of Cork, the 12th of March, and brings 112 female prisoners, having lost only one on the passage. A few passengers also came per this opportunity. John Cronin and Patrick Cronin were next charged with stealing five lambs, the property of Nathaniel and John Gardiner, at Scan, on the 12th July. appeared in evidence. that the lambs were stolen from a field of the Prosecutor’s ; they were found in the prisoner’s possession, few days afterwards ; the prisoners said on being accused of the robbery, that they had bought them at Calieruiee fair— Guilty. To be transported for 7 years. Cork Constitution, 1 Aug 1826.
