The Convict Indentures state that Daniel Cronin is 47 years old. He could neither read nor write; religion Catholic, status married with 4 children and a native of County Cork. He was a farm labourer. He was convicted of sheep stealing at Cork on 1 April 1828 and sentenced to 7 years. He had no prior convictions. Physical attributes - Height 5 feet 6 3/4 inches; complexion ruddy; hair black and eyes hazel. Transport number 47. Assigned to William Hayes, Melville. Received his Certificate of Freedom in 1835 (number 35/388).
