Cheshire Assizes. LARCENY. Lubin Slater, (26). John Crossley, (21) and Ralph Bowler, (25) were indicted for stealing a number of from the shop of Joseph Ashton, at the town- ATTORNEY-GENERAL... stated the case to the jury. Joseph Ashton I keep a shop at Hollingworth ; on the night of the 15th of April last my shop (which adjoins the house of Mr. David Roberts) was broken open, and about 79ibs of tea, 90 yards of flannel, 150 pairs of stockings, linen, &c. were stolen. I discovered on the following morning that the thieves had entered by getting through the kitchen window, after taking a pane of glass out, and by this means opening the … ... Chester Chronicle, 21 Aug 1835. All three were transported for 14 years, and arrived on the same ship. (Ralph Bowler was transported as Robert Bowler.)
