Moreton Bay Prisoner Register. No 502. James Crow, per Lord Eldon, tried at Gloucester Ass. 17 Aug 1816, 14 years. Trade- shingler. No details of any Colonial Conviction. To Sydney 9 Oct 1826. Description: James Crow, native of Yorkshire, age 28, 5 ft 3 ½. fair comp, fair hair, grey eyes. Return of prisoners at Moreton Bay : SRNSW Ref No. 4/1917.1 Under heading: Light gang employed. James Crow- Lord Eldon – fencer. And General Return of public labour at Moreton Bay from 25 Dec 1825 to 24 March 1826 inclusive. Splitting Slabs for the erection of Buildings, Fences, etc. 36. James Crow – slab splitter.

James Crow/Crowe was transported for stealing 1 watch, and note and cash to the amount of £20. He was sentenced to death. 11/6/1821: On list of prisoners transported to Newcastle per 'Governor Bligh'. 25/12/1825: Letters relating to Moreton Bay and Queensland.
