The Cornwall Chronicle (Launceston, Tas. : 1835 - 1880) Sat 20 Jun 1857 Page 3 HOBART HOBART TOWN. It is stated that Alexander Cullen. alias Wm. Nesbett, who is charged with the murder of Elizabeth Ross, in Liverpool-street, is a son of Professor Nesbitt, of Edinburgh.




Alexander was transported for desertion. He was tried for the murder of Elizabeth (last name looks like Ranson) on 13\6\1857. He was executed at Hobart 18\7\1857.
