Born in Barrack Street Dublin baptised 14 Feb 1834 St Andrew's Westland Row, Dublin Ireland, father Patrick, mother Mary. Second offence of stealing a coat from John Cosgrove, appeared Dublin City Court 7 Dec 1847 guilty with 7 years transportation. Moved from Newgate Prison to Richmond Bridewell until 16 Mar 1849 sent to "the Spike" a horific island prison for prisoners to await transportation. High death rate, famine, disease and horrific punishments. He is now 15 years old. 2 years and 4 months later he leaves Ireand on the ship "Blenheim" (also a slightly older James Cunningham also a tailor from Dublin City on board, they attend education classes from cheif medical officer together?) arriving in Hobart Tasmania 31 Oct 1851. TOL 27 Mar 1855 in Tasmania, we then find Daniel in the gold fields of the Snowy River, were he associates with "Taylor and his son from the Swamp" . Marrying Josiah Taylor's daughter Anna she 17 y/o and Daniel 27 y/o on the 18 Jun 1860 at Long Swamp, they give birth to Joseph 30 Dec 1861 at 6 Mile Flat, via Braidwood. Daniel has worked as a labourer and shearer for Hugh Gordon of Manar and leases land from him. However Daniel dies Sept 1862, and Hugh Gordon applies for probate as sole executor.
