MARRIAGE? 1835, 12 October: George Cupit, per Katherine Stewart Forbes, and Martha Jones, per America (1831), received permission to marry (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON52-1-1p015j2k). However, there is no record of their marriage in VDL. An undated entry on her Conduct Record says "Dead". The last dated entry, on 20 September 1833, says "Absent without leave and returned to the Factory for assignment in the interior". Martha had been serving a life sentence for stealing £1 (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON40-1-5$init=CON40-1-5p199).
