The Convict Indentures state that John Cureen is 23 years old. He could neither read nor write; religion Catholic, status single and a native of Waterford. He is a farm labourer. He was convicted of sheep stealing at Waterford on 29 March 1828 and sentenced to 7 years. He had no prior convictions. Physical attributes - Height 5 feet 3 3/4 inches; complexion ruddy; hair brown and eyes hazel. Transport number 147. Assigned to Robert Redfern, Campbell Town.
