14/7/1849 Leeds Intelligencer Yorkshire, England: YORKSHIRE SUMMER ASSIZES JAMES CURRAN (18), was chaged with having on the 2nd of Alpril last, at Huddersfield, feloniously stolen a sheep, the property of Henry Roebuck. GUILTY. To be transported for seven years. James Curran was listed as 21 years old on arrival in VDL - he was born in Manchester. James was 5'3ΒΌ" tall, single, reads and writes a little, fresh complexion, dark brown hair, grey eyes, anchor left arm. 6/9/1853: TOL 25/7/1854: CP Mother: Mary Sisters: Rosa, Ann - at native place.
