Peggy Curran was convicted at Carlow on 22/7/1850 for Larceny - stealing an iron. 7yr sentence. Gaol Report: Two previous convictions. Very good. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'Blackfriar', arriving 1851. Ship Surgeon's Report: good Assignments of service in Colony. Permission to marry granted. Married William James (transported on the 'London')9/11/1852 Brighton district (ref. 25/1852-37). Ticket of Leave 18/4/1854 Certificate of Freedom 25/08/1857 Hobart.
