George Currell was 22 years old on arrival - native place: Hertfordshire. George was illiterate, protestant, single, 5'3¾" tall, sallow complexion, brown hair and eyes, lost two front teeth on right side of upper jaw, small mole on right side of chin, two under right jaw. 1845: TOL Yass 1/5/1846: Newcastle Court of Petty Sessions Letter Book: Letter 46/38. Correspondence re George Currell who arrived in Newcastle from Sydney, his ticket of leave having been altered from Yass district to Newcastle district. On arrival Currell again applied to have his ticket changed to the district of Port Stephens however this was denied by the Bench as there was a great scarcity of labour in the district of Newcastle 21/2/1852: COF
