Catherine Curtis, 19 yrs, married, convicted of larceny from the person, sentenced to 10 yrs at Central Criminal Court on the 22 Nov 1847. Prison Registers and Statistical Returns - page 175 1843-1850 HO 24/12
Old Bailey 22/11/1847: Catharine Curtis was again indicted with ENOS HANCOCK for stealing 1 watch, value 15/., the property of Charles Barnes Barfoot, from his person. CURTIS: Guilty, Aged 19, Transported for Ten Years. HANCOCK: Guilty, Aged 43, Transported for Seven Years. Height: 5'0" Complexion: Fresh and freckled. Head: Round Hair: Brown Visage: Oval Eyes: Grey Eyebrows: Brown Nose: Large Mouth: Large Chin: Large Scar on nose. 2/5/1849: Absconded (Moore) Sentenced to Hard Labour, 3 months Female Factory, Hobart. 11/11/1849: AWOL (Spotswood) Sentenced to Hard Labour, 8 months then to be sent to the interior. 16/11/49: AEW APP: Hobart: Not to be allowed to enter service in Hobart Town. 31/12/1850: (Chelton) AWOL, 18 months Hard Labour. 17/5/1852: Married James Clarke.
