Mary Ann CURTIS was convicted at Dublin City for stealing a cloak and basket. One previous offence. 7yr transportation sentence. Sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'Waverley' 1847. Aged 25yrs' single; housemaid/needle woman; Roman Catholic; can read; 5'1 1/2". Native Place - Dublin Mother - Catherine Brother - Patrick Assigned to the Anson hulk. Clear conduct record. 14 Oct 1848: Application for Permission to Marry - to Jesse WALLIS (transported per Mt Stewart Elphinstone). Approved. 13 Nov 1848: Marriage to Jesse WALLIS (recorded as WALLACE) St. George's Church, Hobart. Mary Ann aged 26yrs, spinster & Jesse aged 22yrs, servant. Ref. 37/1/7 no. 1772. Child: 16 Aug 1849: William WALLACE born at Hobart. Father - Jesse Wallace. Mother - Mary Ann Curtis. 16 Jan 1854: Certificate of Freedom
