Aged 30yrs; native place of birth -Co. Cork abt 1820; 5'1 1/4"; ruddy complexion; lt brown hair; blue eyes; country servant/plain laundress; married; Roman Catholic. Assignments of service in Colony: New Town Farm; Hobart; Antill; Queens Orphan School, New Town. 03/12/1852: Delivered of a male child at Cascades Female Factory, Hobart. Stephen Cusack. When 2yrs 6mths he was admitted to Queens Orphan School on 20/06/1854 until he was discharged on 10/03/1860 to the male school. In 1862 he won the 11th Class Prize. Margaret Cusack married .....Foley. Children Patrick & Ann Foley. She later remarried - to Stephen Dickens. Certificate of Freedom granted 06/04/1857.




Margaret Cusack was convicted at Co. Cork on 27 March 1850 for stealing a sheep. 7yr sentence. Gaol Report: never convicted before. Good. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'Blackfriar', arriving 29/05/1851.
