JONATHAN DAKIN was indicted for stealing, on the 22nd of August, 1 piece of handkerchiefs, value 24s.; 21 handkerchiefs, value 3l. 10s.; 2 shawls, value 4l. 4s.; and 26 yards of linen cloth, value 2l.; the goods of John Waithman, his master, to which he pleaded GUILTY. Aged 25. - Transported for Seven Years. Was a Clerk, and then a Silk Mercer. Born in Nether Knutsford, Cheshire, England. Baptised 28 March 1810, St John the Baptist church, Knutsford, Cheshire, England. Brother Thomas Dakin became a Lord Mayor of London and was Knighted by Queen Victoria.
