The Convict Indentures state that Ellen Daly was 19 years old. She could read; religion Roman Catholic; status single and a native of County Waterford. She was a kitchen maid. Ellen was convicted of stealing clothes at Galway Town in July 1837 and sentenced to 7 years. She had one prior conviction and served 13 days. Physical attributes: Height 5 feet 3 1/4 inches; complexion ruddy; hair light brown and eyes dark grey. Transport number 140. Prisoner number 139-38. Received Certificate of Freedom in 1845 (number 45/188)
