Family connections for Susannah (Danford) are: DANFORD/DUNSFORD Susannah (Danford/Dunsford) was tried for stealing a silver watch of Wm (Roberts) at Dublin city Tholsell Quarter Sessions Ireland in December 1793, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 11 2 1796 after a voyage of 6months on MARQUIS CORNWALLIS. She had a first relationship with Edward Turleigh (Smith his first relationship).>>> [Some details taken from this Website] Edward Turleigh (Smith) was born about 1761 maybe in Dublin Ireland & became member of (Mendoza) gang of criminals. He was tried w/brother James & ??? (Mendoza) for highway robbery at Cork Ireland, sentenced to be hanged reprieved to Life & arrived in NSW as a convict on 11 2 1796 after a voyage of 6months on MARQUIS CORNWALLISalso. He had a second relationship with Jane (Maher her second relationship). He was issued his Conditional Pardon on 31 1 1814. He died on 10 4/4 7 1821 age60 at Richmond or 1841 father of 3childrend & was buried at St Peters CofE Richmond. Matthew (Goulder) enlisted in NSW Corps on 4 3 1791 in UK as a private. He arrived in NSW as a soldier on 9 7 1791 after a voyage of 6months on ALBEMARLE. He was detached to (Foveaux)s company in 1798 until 24 11 1800 when he was 'claimed by a Civil Power'. In 1807 he was tried & convicted & became a convict. Matthew (Goulder) & Susannah (Dunsford) produced 2children: 1.Matthew (Goulder) was born in 1797. He died on 25 3 1798 age about1 & was buried at St Phillips CofE Sydney. 2.Henry (Goulder) was born on 11 3 1798 & baptised on 1 4 1798 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. He died on 2 5 1798 age7w & was buried at St Phillips CofE Sydney. Susannah Danforf was transported for 7 years from Ireland on the convict ship “Marquis Cornwallis” after being found guilty at Dublin in December 1793 of stealing a silver watch. “Marquis Cornwallis” convict ship did not depart Ireland for almost another two years, in August 1795, and arrived at NSW in February 1796. NEWSPAPER REPORT OF IRISH CRIME: Freemans Journal Tuesday 3 December 1793, p 4. “Friday last, the following persons were tried before the Recorder at the Tholsel, at an adjournment of the Quarter Sessions : “Joseph Rourke for stealing a silk cloak the property of Susannah Cunningham. "Susannah Danford, for stealing a silver watch, value 5l and 9s in money, the property of Wm Roberts. Both to be transported."
