DOB, 1813, native place, Dublin, Catholic. Trade, Bricklayer. Single. Remarks: Details of numerous colonial sentences.
Daniel McDonald was 17 years old on arrival in NSW. Daniel was born in Ireland, although convicted at Salford, England. Daniel was 5'9" tall, stout, fair complexion, light brown hair, hazel eyes, single, could read and write. 1832: Assigned to John Smith of Maitland. Sentenced to 12 months in an ironed gang for being an accessory to robbery. 22/11/1836: 6 months in an iron gang for robbery, Maitland. 1837: Assigned to an iron gang, Maitland. 25/9/1838: With John Lowe, assigned to John Smith, both sentenced to 14 days solitary confinement for neglect of work. Witness Nathaniel Nixon, overseer. 22/6/1839: Absconded from John Smith since 16th June, Newcastle. 25/9/1839: Apprehended, Newcastle. 8/11/1841: Admitted to Newcastle gaol. No offence stated.
