Thomas Davenport was listed as 52 years old on arrival. Native Place: Cheshire Occupation: Farm servant/silk weaver. Thomas was literate, protestant, married with 6 male and 5 female children. Transported for 'Stealing fire-arms'. Thomas was 5'6¾" tall, sallow complexion, brown mixed with grey hair, hazel eyes, scar tip of nose, heart pierced with two darts, inside lower left arm, D back of left wrist, mark of a bile back of neck. 20/12/1842 Sydney Gazette: Police Office, Singleton, 8th December, 1842. NOTICE is hereby given, that a dead body having been found in the River Hunter, supposed to be that of Thomas Davenport, free by servitude, the undermentioned articles, his property, will be sold by Public Auction, on Saturday, the 31st December, 1842, at 12 o'clock at noon, at the Police Office, Singleton, for the purpose of defraying his funeral expenses :— One woollen bed One box, containing One corduroy jacket One woollen sleeve vest One small bag containing flour One pair boots Two Guernsey frocks One south-wester One white felt hat One stockwhip Four check shirts One pair Tweed trousers One bible, one prayer-book One pair socks One small net By order of the Police Magistrate, S.
