West Kent Guardian London, England 16 Apr 1836 WEST KENT QUARTER SESSIONS Thomas David, aged 25 ; William Tanner, 22, for stealing two hen turkies, the property of the Right Hon. the Earl of Romney, at Maidstone.___The Jury found both the prisoners guilty. The Court sentenced David to be transported for life (as he had been before convicted of felony and five times in goal,) and Tanner to be transported for seven years. On the sentence being concluded, David, who has a wooden leg, bowed with the most impudent grin, and said, "Thankee, gentlemen, I hope you are all satisfied ; I am." Thomas David was listed as 27 years old on arrival. Native Place: Kent. Thomas could read, was protestant, single, 5'7" tall, sallow complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, lost a front upper tooth, small mole left side of upper lip, and three on throat, mermaid with comb and glass in hands inside lower right arm, lost right leg. 19/4/1844: TOL Port Macquarie. 1/6/1848: CP




Pardon issued 1/6/1848. Married Elizabeth FULLERTON at St Thomas Church Port Macquarie 9/3/1839. Died Tenterfield, N.S.W. 23/10/1881. They had seven (7) daughters.
