On lists of prisoners transported to Port Macquarie per Sally. He was a baker with a life term and had been tried at the Sydney Bench & sentenced on 06/09/1823 to a “renewal of original sentence”. (SRNSW Col Sec Papers, Reel 6019; 4/3864 pp.69, 418-9) 1825 Muster: Mary DAVIS (?), FS, Brox, 7 years, wife of William Davis (?), Sydney (17900 & children of William Davis, Sydney – Elijah 14 [bc1811], John 12 [bc1813], Samuel 10 [bc1815], Ebenezer 8 [bc1817] – all BC [William WARNS, con, Indefatigable 1815, life, govt employ Port Macquarie (44306 & 44616)] 1828 Census: Mary DAVIES, aged 43, FS, Brox, 7 years, prot, FF, Parra *(D0290 - plus 1 month colonial sentence) [Note: The children listed above were not found in the 1828 Census] William WARNES (or WARMS), Indefatigable, messenger, Sydney (W05033) 1831, William Warns, per ship Indefatigable, life term, aged 60, applied to marry 68 year-old Mary Johnson, permission was denied as the “female already married”. Having removed two shutters, they broke a square of glass, by which they cut their fingers. Warne being alarmed by the noise, and getting up, the fellows took to their heels.” (Source: Sydney Herald, 24/06/1833, p2) 1833, 14 Sept. – “ASÁBYNA WARNES, by the Red Rover, my wife, No. 2, York-street Sydney, has eloped from her home, I herby caution the Public not to give her any credit in my name, as I will not be answerable for any debt she may contract. Jess' Girls - SAG:  1814 - Muster with 1 child (this info not found by author)  1818 - single (woman)  1822 - Muster, living with William Davis (Minerva) in Cambridge St & son Robert aged 7, BC. [Another son (?) Joseph was admitted to Male Orphan School aged 10 in 1823, father William Davis, a miller in Sydney. Also a William Davis admitted 1819, aged 10, father was William Davis, blind, of Pitt Town. Not certain if these 2 boys belonged to this Mary Davies]  1825 - Muster  1828 - Census  Mutch - banns to wed William Warner 1818  Mutch - banns to wed William Kames 1819 Convict Indent: William Warnes came to NSW on the ship Indefatigable on 25 April 1815. He had been sentenced at Essex Assize on 27 July 1814, for life, a native of Norfolk, a baker, aged 44, 5’6” tall, ruddy complexion, black hair & hazel eyes. TL – 1408. 1841 – Warns was listed to receive a CP #41/71 on 01/01/1841. Described as: arr per ship Indefatigable in 1815, born 1771, life term for “stealing a horse”, a native of Norfolk, a baker, 5’4½” tall, ruddy complexion, grey to bald hair & grey eyes (Source: SRNSW Convict Pardons, Reel 779, 4/4439, 913) He received his CP in 1841. There are two Mary Davies on 1828 census, the one mentioned above and a Mary Davies age36 F/S living at Murrumbateman other surnames Lawrence.
