Meredith Davies was transported on the Surrey Or Surry, departing 31st Dec 1813 and arriving 28th Jul 1814 with 204 passengers.
Built at Harwich in 1811 a square-rigged transport ship of 443 tons and copper lined she had two decks with a height between decks of 5 ft. 8 ins. In 1818, she had a major refit increasing the decks (and convict carrying capacity) to three. She was owned by the London firm of F. & C.F. Mangles.

Per "Surrey", 1814 1820 Petition for mitigation of sentence (Fiche 3204; 4/1861 p.68) 1820 The petition of Merideth Davis sheweth That Your Excellency’s Petitioner received sentence of transportation for duration for Life at Brecknock in 1811, and arrived in this Colony from Ship Surry in 1814. That Your Petitioner since his arrival in this Colony has been in the service of Mr R. Hassell, in the district of Cooks and has conducted himself in an honestly, soberly and diligently. Your Petitioner therefore begs Your Excellency to be pleased to take his case into your generous consideration and grant him a Ticket of Leave. And your petitioner as in duty bound will ever pray…. At Brecon Great Sessions three prisoners were capitally convicted, viz. Thomas Thomas, for horse-stealing, Benjamin Williams, a youth about years of age, for house-breaking, and Meredith Davies, for uttering forged bill of exchange; the latter of whom is left for execution. Hereford Journal, 28 April 1813.
