Robert changed his surname from Drummond to his mother's maiden name Davies when he was charged at the age of 14. At the time his occupation was stated as carpenters boy. He received his certificate of freedom No. 47-135 on 2 Feb 1847 at Carcoar New South Wales. By this time he had a trade as a Blacksmith and ultimately started his own blacksmith business in Bathurst and Forbes, New South Wales. He married under his correct name Drummond and then later changed it to Davis.




Robert was 14 years old when he was convicted and sent to Australia his occupation at the time was Carpenter's boy. His certificate of freedom No. 47-135 was dated 2 Feb 1847 at Carcoar NSW. He eventually started up his own Blacksmith business in Bathurst and Forbes, New South Wales
