Eliza Davis (Davies) was born in 1810, Southwark Borough. She was 19 when she was sentenced to Life for robbing a person. She was a servant of all work and a needlewoman. Protestant. Reads and writes. Indent Description: Single. Ruddy, freckled complexion, grey eyes and red hair. Tattoos: RHGS, 1839 indistinctly on right arm, lower part TTMB, I Love to the … 4'11" tall. She was assigned to: Richard Humphries, 1829, Pitt St, Sydney (Convict Indent); Mr Kemp, September, 1831, Newcastle; and Mrs Ward, April, 1835, Paterson (NGEB State Archives) Ticket of Leave: 25th January, 1845, Paterson [45/0010] Application to marry: (1)Richard Stack per Guilford, 15th October, 1831, Newcastle. (2) John/James Dyson (alias Crosley) per Lord Sidmouth, 25th January, 1832, Newcastle. Eliza married John Dyson in 1832, Newcastle. Eliza was one of the female convicts who were sentenced to 3 years in a penal settlement for mutinous conduct and riot at the female factory Parramatta, 17th February, 1835.
