Convict Notes


Born about 1823. Roman Catholic. At conviction could read and was single. Sister Mary in Dublin, Sisters Ellen and Bridget in Manchester. Stole a quilt for transport, had twice prior been convicted for wearing stolen apparel. Surgeon's report 'very good'. In 1850 received 14 days in cells for "not proceeding to the Depot" - Cascades Female Factory - and then no longer allowed to enter service in Hobart. Seems to have moved to Launceston. 8 Sept 1852 "Married Alexander Gilbert"
