Prisoner discharged from House of Correction, Launceston during the week ending 13 Sept 1871. John Davis from Port Arthur, per Pestonjee Bomanjee, tried at S.C. Launceston on 5 Oct 1865, for Feloniously breaking into a store, sentenced to 8 years, Norfolk, age 48yrs, 5 feet 2 inches high, grey hair. F.S., pockpitted, two scars on eyebrow. Tasmania Police Gazette, 15th Sept 1871, p150.
