Warwickshire Assizes. Mary Davies, aged 50, Edward Bates, aged 70, and Amelia, the wife Wm. Booth, aged 40, charged with putting away, at Birmingham, on the 24th July last, 20 forged notes, of the Bank of England, each. Leicester Chronicle, 14 April 1821. A reprieve has been received for Edward Bates, Mary Davies, William Lawley, and Thomas Watts, sentenced to death at the late Warwick Assizes, for passing forged notes. Aris’s Birmingham Gazette, 14 May 1821.
