Married, 2 children. Wife, Elizabeth Davis in service of ? Cotrell. M, Mary Blackburn, 2 B, Jno, a blacksmith in the Marines, Wm at Brampton, nr N,P, 1 S, Sarah, ux Jno Pendle at N.P. This offence: Burglary, once a similar offence, 7 years, served it at Penitentiary, Chatham & Woolwich & Honduras. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Although he states his trade is Ploughman, can milk, it sounds from his previous offences and imprisonment at the penitentiary in Chatham and Woolwich and Honduras, as though he has had military experience.
In consequence of the arrival of several prisoners on the day of the commencement of the Assizes, the number in the Calendar was increased to 31, who were disposed of as follows : Death Recorded.— … and Rich. Davies alias Blackburn, for entering the house W. Pritchard, at Much Dewchurch, and stealing a pair of small-clothes, and other articles. Hereford Journal, 18 Aug 1830. Wednesday last, the following criminals, sentenced to transportation, were removed from our county gaol, and left this city for Portsmouth, where they were embarked in the receiving ship :—Richard Davies, William Pickthorn, Joseph Atkins, Richard Warton, James Watkins, John Devonport, John Carter, and Frederick Coombes, all tried at our Assizes, and John Williams, tried at our last Sessions.
