Rebecca was said to be 23 years old on arrival and her native place was Norwich. Rebecca was 4’9” tall, sallow complexion, sandy hair, hazel eyes, can read, ring and 5 blue dots on fingers of left hand, married with 3?? children. 10/7/1849: Permission to marry Peter Miller (Francis Charlotte to NSW 1836 then Abercrombie to VDL 16/6/1841) – no registration of marriage found. 14/5/1850: Gave birth to Annie Daynes at the House of Corrections, Hobart – father not listed. Annie died in 1850. 16/9/1851: Permission to marry James Howes (Equestrian). 13/10/1851: Married at Spring Bay. 13/1/1852: Absconding from her authorized place of residence and being found on board the ‘Pilot’ bound for Victoria – 18 months at the Factory, Hobart. 3/3/1852: Delivered of a stillborn male child at the House of Corrections, Hobart – the child lived for 45 minutes. 28/3/1852: Rebecca died as a prisoner at the House of Correction, Hobart of Tuberculosis and Pulmonary Phthisis.
