Louisa Surgeon’s Journal. ADM 101/45/6/11827 Folios 1-2: case no 1, Elizabeth Dean, aged 36, convict, taken ill at Woolwich; sick or hurt, intermittent fever (tertian), she was from the jail at Hastings and was affected with tertian ague and previously much injured her health by drunkeness; put on sick list 31 July 1827, discharged 20 August 1827 cured, this patient was frequently affected with rigors during the voyage when the weather was changeable, but landed at Sydney in good health.
