James DEARING together with Jonas SOLOMON, Joseph GREAVES and Abraham NATHAN were charged and convicted at the Old Bailey Court, London on 19 Feb 1812 for Larceny - stealing 3 reams of paper. James' defence was that he was simply at the dwelling house at the same time. He was given a 7 yr transportation sentence and arrived in Australia per the 'Marquis of Wellington' 1815. Aged 25 yrs.
